It is a 60 year old car though. And IMHO you get way more cred driving that thing around than a new Range Rover.

I hate to say it, but I think it’s CP.
I can buy a half-decent Series 1 here for around 9k USD and even with repairs and restoration, I doubt it’ll get to 50k pounds

Unless you have money to burn, then it's definitely CP. The company is local to me, and I know they turn out excellent work, but that price is so far off the mark!

It’s kinda like Singer, ICON, and the Eagle Speedster. Although the fact that it’s local makes it 10x cooler.

This is crazy money. I know of one sitting in a shed here in oz, I may go see the guy soon. He’s got a beetle I’m keen on asking about as well. It’s completely covered in blackberry bushes now and hidden from view. The Landy is in a shed and looks nice but has sat for at least 15 years that I know of.

Yeah if I had 50,000 pounds, neither weld be on my list, but if I had 20 million pounds, and 50 thousand here or there doesn’t matter to me, I think this thing is pretty awesome.

Excellent. What is your itinerary/plan so far? I can essentially do any day/night apart from the 21st (girlfriends birthday, there’d be hell to pay) so whichever is easiest for you.

I’ll be coming in late on the 21st, possibly hanging out in Heathrow until morning, and I’ve been planning to do an event at Brands Hatch on the weekend, and a good old-fashioned junkyard trawl with Simon/BiTurbo at some point that he’s free. Other than that, nothing really specific so far.
